A. B. Chase Pump Organ

By Time_Traveler, 7 February, 2009
Description

Pump organ with interesting history. In working order.

This is an " A.B. Chase  " organ from the time period of 1870-1880. The organ was apparently once owned by Governor of Idaho Frank Steunenberg . After the assassination of F. Steunenberg  in 1903, the organ was passed on and later sold by a family member . After that it was auctioned and found its way across the Canadian border to British Columbia in 1921 or 1922.

The organ was then in the possession of a pioneer farmer family in Salmon Arm, British Columbia and was again auctioned and purchased my me in 2006

Some wood ornaments missing in front . A few tiny chips.

There are several number to be found on the organ when taking off the back board (attached with wing nuts). One number is on top, one is inside and is marked with G.G.Bergstrom, and one is on the back board. There is also a warranty certificate glued to the backboard and another certificate explaining the various patents that have been applied in the mechanism dating back to 1863.
