Antique Secretary Desk - Drops down in front

By Cassie012, 26 January, 2011
Description

The desk can open, folding down, and then be closed again when not in use. It has a key that locks both the desk part and a glass cabinet above the desk. The cabinet seems as if it was used as a bookcase but could also be used for storage. It also has 2 drawers below the actual desk for additional storage. The desk has just a few scratches from being used over the years. Inside one of the drawers is some sort of stamp or sticker of the make of the desk. I could not make out what it said, but when I searched for it online, I came up with Skandia Furniture Company Rockford, Ill. It says that Skandia Furniture Company opened in 1889 and closed in 1921.

I would really appreciate someone helping me out and letting me know how much this desk could be worth and possibly what year it could be from.

Quick responses would be greatly appreciated because I am trying to sell it in order to pay some bills. Thank you!!
