Vintage Ring

I would suggest that this is a Phoenix and not a Thunderbird. The style is that of a Phoenix and would suggest a connection to Native Amercian Tribes in that state. This state has the second largest Indian Population then any other state with Navajo taking the largest proportion.

The phoenix is a mythological bird that recycles its own life. When it perceives its impending death, the phoenix ignites itself into a magnificent fire. In time, it reemerges from its own ashes – reborn. It is a sign of immortality.

Many more modern pices of this style contain touquoise. Of which this piece does not. As well it was around 1814 when the silver standard of .925 was established in the United States.

Origin: South Western US (Perhaps Arizona)

Est Circa: 1930's - 1950's thus Vintage (not antique over 100 yrs old)

Est Value: $80 - $130 US based on market and demand. Although silver prices are higher now then they were back then thay have dropped a bit in the last 6 months. I would you suggest you put this on your house insurance for $200 - $250 US,

Sorry to hear of your Uncles passing ... His spirit is with you as are those of your ancestors ... Please let me know what you think of my valuation by replying.

Thanks for sharing this cool piece of Natvie American History.

Peace and Blessings Always  ..

Re: Antique Ring

It might also be a Peyote Bird.
