Antique German Tea Set

By Coolkc456, 31 August, 2018
Description

This is a tea set that my grandmother gave to me as a baby. She does not know who it came from in the family, all she knows is that it was given to her after the family was divided. Therefore, she is unsure of how old it is. We only know is that it is from Germany as printed on the bottom of the pieces.

The set consists of 6 saucers, 6 places, a sugar cube cup with lid, and tea pot with lid. All pieces are not chipped and are in new condition. The cups have not been found.

I'm also not sure if this is porcelain, china, or milk glass. If anyone knows what it is made of, how old it might be, and/or how much it is worth, please leave a reply. To me it looks like porcelain.

There are only 2 appraisal stores in my town and one didn't answer the phone or respond to my voicemail and the shop is always locked with the blinds closed with the lights on inside and the other suggested me to the place previously mentioned because they charge $250-$500 for an appraisal which is nuts. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Ceramics and Porcelains
Medium
Either porcelain, china, or milk glass. Looks like porcelain to me.
Distinguishing marks
Little dots and shell designs on rim, almost. Curtain designs near the bottom.

Excellent
History
Given to my grandmother from unknown family sources. Grandmother was born in 1939, but doesn't necessarily mean the tea pot is that old or older as I am unsure if the tea pot was received from an older relative.
