Antique Cribbens & Sexton Nickel and Cast Iron Woodburn Cook Stove

By AM Kerr, 1 December, 2017
Description

This great woodburning cook stove made by Cribben&Sexton in the late 1800 or early 1900s comes from Michigan. It is in the family since purchased brand new.

Stove is in great shape having 6 top burners with the handles to remove the cook plate. At the right back of the cooktop are the Model NO 269-18.

There are 2 silver chrome food warmers that fold down for use or fold up when not in use located between the stove top and the above food warmer.

At the top is a movable up & down door covering the warming shelf adorned with two nickel steer heads. Toward the back of the top warmer are two silver lion heads one adorning each side of the top.

Facing the stove on your right is the Cribben&Sexton logo hailing from Chicago Illinois. On the front of the oven door in beautiful silver chrome are the words "EXCELLENT UNIVERSAL".  Fold down the oven door and you see the inside white door with "EVERY UNIVERSAL WARRANTED" inscribed on the inside door, complete with the oven shelf inside the oven. Below the oven door are the words "FLUE DOOR" surrounded by silver chrome.

To the left of the oven door are the two smaller doors decorated in beautiful silver chrome where the top door utilizes a handle to crank up the (top container) for easier reach. Bottom drawer is for the wood fire {I suppose} to heat the stove.

The stove comes apart in three pieces for easier moving. It is truly a one of a kind and in excellant shape.
