These clocks were called "Gingerbread Clocks" because of the stamped carving on them resembling gingerbread cookies. They were a generic item, most major clock makers at the turn of the 19th Century made them in very large numbers, most sold through mail order catalogs. Values peaked for them during the mad fad for Victorian decorating in the 1980's, values for them since then has been in steep decline.

This looks like a Gilbert "Capital No. 43" Kitchen Clock. I’m sometimes seeing it spelled Capitol so not sure which is correct. My guess is the eBay one for $175 is about right.
