Antique Cigarette Cigarette Humdor Music Box

By ddonahue21, 11 December, 2012
Description

This is a beautiful ornate wooden cigarette humidor or box. It is also a music box. It is in very good condition. The Box appears to be all original except for maybe the knobs on the drawers. The ornate designs on the box are all made with tiny squares of wood designed into beautiful things. The music that plays is very clear an very pretty. The box opens up to have 4 rows of cigarette storage and to the side are two small drawers that i assume are used for a lighter or matches to be stored. It's absolutely beatiful and i would just love to know more about it. I am unable to find any markings on it. I would really appreciate anything you could tell me about it.

I want to know its age, maker, value and anything else possible

History
I got this from a friend. He knew a little about it at the time but nothing specific. I am unable to find any markings on the box but it is absolutely beautiful and ornate. The drawers appear to have been replaced along with the door knobs although the face of the door is original. All of the designs are made from thousands of tiny different colored pieces and types of wood. Mostly all of the decoratives are still intact.
