Antique Chinese Teapot

By junker., 24 January, 2011
Description

I bought a teapot a while back. It is about the size of a grapefruit. It has all kinds of different kinds of porcelain type nuts decorated all around the pot. They are, sunflower, acorn, walnut, peanut, etc., etc., etc. What would be the lid is an upside down mushroom. The feet to the teapot are nuts as well.  There is 2 little pieces that are detached from the pot.  One of those is a small mushroom cap that attached to the lid part.  It has "1876" wrote on the bottom, in pencil maybe. There is some type of little stamp or seal near the spout of the teapot which has little images that are "hieroglyphic looking" to me. The handle reminds me of a set of bull horns ? I would love to know more about this piece ! If anyone could help me or tell me more about it, please do. I would love to know what it is worth, because it WILL be for sale at some point ! I saw a similar one sell for over $350.00 on ebay a while back. Can't wait to hear from you !!
