Alice Walker Novel

By bamzone1, 10 February, 2009
Description

This book is a first edition, first printing of "The Third Life of Grange Copeland" by famous author Alice Walker (The Color Purple). It is a hardcover printed in 1970 by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc. New York, NY. The dust jacket is present and in good condition with some slight tears at edges and a little discoloration. It has a price tag at the bottom right front corner marked "Crown" and a price of $1.00, which I assume is the used book price. It has not been price clipped, and the original publisher's price of $5.95 is still in the upper right corner of the front inside flap of dust cover. The book itself is, in my opinion, in excellent condition. There are no signs that the book has been read. The spine shows no wear or wrinkling, there are no marks of any kind on any pages or either he front or back covers. Inside covers are also clean and free of marks. There are no creases on spine or pages to indicate that the book was held or propped open for reading. The silver embossed lettering on the spine is bright and shines like new. It states the author's name, book title and publisher's name. The jacket design is by Hal Siegel, as stated on th back inside flap at bottom.Unfortunately, there is no signature by the author. This is known to be Alice Walker's first published novel, and her second published book.
