20th Century sterling braclet

By goose2014, 23 March, 2019
Description

The bracelet was given to me by a friend of my Grandmother both fled German in the late 1930’s as a young girls.  The friend said it was one of the few things she was able to take when leaving Germany as their exit was hurried and unplanned due to some imminent actions from the Nazi government party towards her father.

There are my best descriptions of the 18 charms:

  1. Little heart with keyhole design
  2. Bicycle with moveable parts
  3. Arrowhead with a sun design
  4. Airplane with moving propeller, I think the saying on the wing is “my to bless you” with a heart in-between my to & bless you.
  5. Little ring with ‘gem’
  6. Heart – has a word too small to make out
  7. Some sort of flower
  8. Human figure with design
  9. Roller that moves, the shaft says ‘sterling’
  10. Dog with crossed arrows and swastika icons
  11. Holy Bible with ‘IHS’ on the back, it opens showing tablets with roman numbers I-X, 2  inscriptions ‘believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved’ the other page ‘Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving be sure your sins will find you out. Amen’
  12. Tire pump
  13. Bent arrow
  14. Roller with ‘gem’
  15. Face
  16. Harmonica with designs I cannot make out
  17. Flower
  18. Sailboat
