Antique Gold Pier Mirror with Marble Bench

Profile picture for user Lovejoy
By Lovejoy, 23 August, 2018
Accurate Description of Item
One Eastlake Style Pier Mirror and Table
Appraiser Remarks
This piece is actually Victorian and is in the Eastlake style, first popular in North America after the publication of Charles Locke Eastlake's book on furniture design Circa 1871. Originally this piece would have been finished on a dark walnut or mahogany shade, and would have been used in a front hall way, the mirror either sitting on the table or mounted above it. Somebody tried to update its look probably in the 1950's, to make it look like French Furniture, which was popular at that time.
Furniture in this style was very hot from the late 1970's until the 1990's, but has been in serious decline since then.
Estimated Value
$500.00- $750.00
